The place known as Arkansas City isn’t near the state of Arkansas—in fact, Arkansas City, Kansas is just a few miles north of the Oklahoma state line. Located in southern Kansas, Arkansas City is in Cowley County and is home to about 11,500 residents. Cowley College, a local technical school and community college, is located in the central part of the city. If you need to travel from your Arkansas City house for rent or apartment for rent, you’ll probably take interstate 35, which is a few miles to the west. From there, you can reach Wichita to the north, at about 70 miles away. A somewhat isolated area, some nearby towns include Winfield, Wellington, and Maple City.
