Just about 6,000 people live in the city of Jeanerette, Louisiana. Situated in the extreme south-central part of Louisiana, Jeanerette is located within Iberia Parish. Nicknamed the “Sugar City,” Jeanerette was an active participant in the sugar cane industry.
