Gardner is a medium sized community found in the central northern region of the state of Massachusetts. Gardner has a population of approximately twenty thousand eight hundred residents, and is considered a part of Worcester County. Gardner is nicknamed the Chair City, and was originally settled in the year seventeen sixty four. Gardner was incorporated as a separate city in the year seventeen eighty five and is named after Colonel Thomas Gardner.
