Grafton is a medium sized community found in the central portion of the state of Massachusetts. Grafton has a population of approximately fourteen thousand nine hundred residents, and is considered a part of Worcester County. Grafton was originally settled by Europeans in the year seventeen eighteen, and was incorporated as a separate community in the year seventeen thirty five. Grafton was originally inhabited by the Nipcum tribe of Native Americans, while residents of a modern day Grafton apartment for rent or house for rent can enjoy a number of historical and cultural attractions and points of interest. Grafton was named after the Duke of Grafton, a son of King Charles II of England. There are a number of historic sites found on the Grafton Common, and the Willard Clock Museum is also worth a visit. Notable residents of Grafton include Simon Willard, John Adams Whipple, Bethany Hart, Marc Orrell, Steve Spagnuolo, and Frank O’Hara. Grafton is noted for its Early American, Greek Revival, and Victorian architecture, especially on North, South, and Worcester Streets. Residents of a Grafton apartment rental or home rental can also enjoy several mill sites dating back to the Industrial Revolution.
