Alliance is a relatively small community found in the northwestern portion of the state of Nebraska. Alliance has a population of approximately eight thousand nine hundred residents, and is considered a part of Box Butte County. Alliance serves as the county seat of Box Butte County, was originally named Grand Lake, and received its current name along with the arrival or the Burlington and Quincy Railroad in the year eighteen eighty eight.
