About Artesia

A small town in the Pecos Valley, with a mix of natural resources and agriculture anchoring its economy, Artesia, New Mexico, is home to over 10,000 residents in the southeast corner of the state about 40 miles south of Roswell. The oil and gas industries are large producers here, providing many employment options in town for those seeking a house for rent or an apartment for rent. There are many farms and agricultural enclaves as well. The town is home to a dairy producers' cooperative, and the largest employers here include the Navajo Refining Co., Yates Petroleum Corp., Artesia Public Schools, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, the city, Penasco Valley Telecommunications and Pride Petroleum.

The town is home to a number of places for those hunting a house for rent or an apartment for rent to enjoy, from two movie theaters at the Land of the Sun to the Artesia Country Club and the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center. Five elementary schools, a middle and intermediate schools, and Artesia High School make up the public school system.
