About Los Lunas
Right off I-25, Los Lunas, New Mexico, is a town of around 10,000 people, located about 25 miles south of Albuquerque. The town was founded by Spanish settlers in the 1700s and is the county seat of Valencia County. The town has a rich Native American and Hispanic culture, and it is bordered on the north by Isleta Indian Pueblo. Eight elementary schools, three intermediate schools, two middle schools , and Los Lunas High School, plus a handful of private schools, serve educational purposes in Los Lunas.
