A village of about 10,000 people in Pomfret, New York and Chautauqua County, Fredonia has a lot of small town charm for its residents and visitors. Fredonia is the home of the State Universit of New York Fredonia and sits near the City of Dunkirk. Lake Erie is a part of this community, as it sits just to the north. Fredonia has a lot of history, even before European settlers founded it. Fredonia has connections to Mark Twain and was the location for the Buffalo Bills training camp. Rentals here include apartments and houses for rent that will be a great introduction to the community.
Fredonia's existence as a college town is a strong force in the community, as the four year liberal arts college offers a wide range of studies for students in undergraduate and graduate programs. With about 5,500 students, SUNY Fredonia has a small college feel while being a part of the large university system. The architecture on the campus was designed by I.M. Pei and Henry N. Cobb, making the 216 acres of campus and the town beyond a beautiful place to live and work.
