Mendon is a medium sized community found in the central western portion of the Empire State. Mendon has a population of approximately eight thousand four hundred residents and has a motto of “Preserving, Protecting, Promoting.” Mendon is situated in Monroe County but was originally considered a part of Ontario County. Mendon is named after the hometown of early settler Caleb Taft and was officially established in the year eighteen thirteen.
