Situated in central New York, the charming town of Verona is located in Oneida County. The town has a friendly population of about 7,000 residents and is located just west of the City of Rome. Although the exact source of the town’s name is unknown, it is believed that the town was named after Verona, Italy. The town was first settled in 1792, and it 1802, Verona was separated from the Town of Westmoreland. Then in 1993, the Oneida Nation purchased a parcel of land in the town and built a casino and bingo hall, but in 1997, the establishment was redeveloped into the Turning Stone Resort & Casino.
