About Wallkill

The town of Wallkill is situated in Orange County and has a bustling population of about 26,000 residents. Although the town was first patented in 1724, little development and growth took place in the town until it was formally established in 1772. However, some of the land belonging to the town was lost when the neighboring Ulster County was formed. The town was built on land that was owned by Samuel Watkins. Wallkill is made up of numerous hamlets and districts that each has its own unique history as well as appearance.
