About Westbury

Westbury is a beautiful village located in Nassau County and has a population of about 15,000 residents. The village is actually situated within the Town of North Hempstead. The community is made up of a diversified population consisting of Italian-Americans, African-Americans, and Hispanic Americans. Since the mid-1970’s, this charming village has had the nickname “A Community for All Seasons.” The first settlers to arrive in the region in 1658 were Quakers, and, more specifically, they settled in an area known as Hempstead Plains. In 1932, the village was officially incorporated.

Westbury proudly boasts a newly revived downtown district that underwent numerous development projects from 1999-2006. Residents and visitors can find great attractions in the village’s downtown district including fine restaurants, great shopping, and successful businesses. Westbury also contains a Village Recreation Center and Village Community Center which offer fun and exciting activities to the village’s residents of all ages. Westbury hosts numerous festivals and events such as the Strawberry Fair, St. Anthony’s Feast, concerts in the park, and much more.
