Woodbury is a charming village and town situated in Orange County and has a friendly population of about 10,000 residents. The Town of Woodbury is located in the southeastern part of the county, and the village was just established in August of 2006. Unfortunately, the origins of the name Woodbury is no longer known. The region where the town now lies was originally called Woodbury Clove. Although the town was incorporated in 1889, it was created in 1863. Woodbury’s economy is mainly composed of flour and grist mill, as well as a larger tourism industry and a famous fly rod (fishing rod) manufacturing business. The town’s tourism industry attracts travelers from all over the world, including Japan, China, Europe, and the Americas. The largest attraction in Woodbury is the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, which is one of the largest outlet malls in the world. The shopping boom, which began in the 1980’s, has influenced the establishment of major stores such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, BJ’s Wholesale Club, numerous restaurants, car dealerships, and other retailers in the area. This recent economic growth has allowed Woodbury to prosper.
