About Cullowhee
A tiny community in western North Carolina, Cullowhee is an unincorporated area with less than 4,000 residents. Rentals in the area are popular for vacation homes and second homes, but do include some homes for rent and apartments for rent, particularly in the area near the campus of Western Carolina University, where the student population is around 10,000. Cullowhee offers a quiet community in which to study, work, live, and relax. You'll find so much natural beauty here, as the community and the campus of the university sit in the Tuskasegee River valley between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains. About an hour from Asheville, Cullowhee has access to a lot of larger city amenities, but the residents here enjoy the community's size and comfort level.
