Situated in Alamance County, north central North Carolina, the city of Graham has a population of about 13,000 residents. Graham is also the county seat of Alamance County. The city was laid out in 1849 as the county seat of the newly formed Alamance County, and it was officially incorporated as a town in 1851. In 1961, it was incorporated as a city. Graham was named for William A. Graham, a United States Senator and Governor of North Carolina who was born in North Carolina. The city is also home to numerous schools, including Alamance Community College. Some of the landmarks in Graham that make it such a wonderful and beautiful city to live in include Sesquicentennial Park, the Alamance County Court House, Graham’s downtown district, the Haw River, the Captain J.N. Williamson House, and Court Square, where many art events are held. The city also holds spectacular musical concerts in its beautiful public parks. Graham is a very relaxing city with a small town atmosphere, which makes it a wonderful place to live in.
