Lewisville is a charming town located in Forsyth County and has a population of about 13,000 residents. The town is also part of the Piedmont Triad region in northwestern North Carolina and is just west of the city of Winston-Salem. Since its incorporation in 1991, Lewisville has put strong emphasis on retaining its high quality of life and small town atmosphere and appearance. The town was established along a wagon trail that was created when Moravian settlers traveled through the area during the 19th century. The town was named after one of the community’s first settlers, Lewis Laugenour, who also donated much of his land for development in the central district of the town. Over the past decade, Lewisville has proved to be one of the fastest growing communities in Forsyth County. Much planning has gone into the town in order to make it a peaceful, relaxing, and pedestrian friendly community. The community also creates tight bonds between families in the numerous town events that take place in Shallowford Square. Various musical concerts and the Shalloween Carnival take place in the beautiful town of Lewisville.
