Affectionately known as the “heart of the snowbelt" of northeast Ohio, Chardon experiences a vast range of climates throughout the year. Although the town of 5,000 residents was destroyed by fire in 1868, it has since been rebuilt into a quaint town 45-minutes outside of Cleveland proper in Geauga County. Due to the limited amount of jobs in Chardon, most residents make the commute into downtown Cleveland during the week. Residents of a Chardon house or apartment for rent will enjoy the annual Maple Festival, Cornhole Tournament, Geauga Lyric Theater Guild, and Sand Ridge Golf Club. Chardon also has an abundance of park space. The area’s wide range of weather conditions, affords residents the opportunity to participate in various activities year-round. The Mel Harder Park, Skate Park, and recreation center offer residents strenuous outdoor attractions including a competitive summer recreation program. In addition to five public schools in the area, Chardon boasts a complement of private education opportunities as well.
