The Trail of Tears migrated the Creek Indians from Alabama to Oklahoma where they created the present-day city of Broken Arrow. Developed into a railroad hub, the MKT railroad, which ran through the middle of the city, still exists today and is now operated by the Union Pacific Railroad. Home to just under 100,000 Oklahomans, Broken Arrow is the third most populated city in the state and is also gome to the third largest concentration of businesses in the state, residents of an apartment or house rental in Broken Arrow have access to a large job network, spearheaded by major employers like ADDvantage Technologies, Advanced Medical Instruments, FlightSafety International, Skycam, Braden-Carco-Gearmatic-Winch, Xeta Technologies, Windstream Communications, E47 Technologies, Gatesway Foundation, GAVCO Plastics, Paragon Films, and The Arrow Group.
Interestingly, despite its large size, Broken Arrow was ranked as one of the “Top 25 Affordable Suburbs in the South” by Business Week Magazine in 2007. Additionally, it was on the top 100 places to live list. Just 16 miles southeast of Tulsa, Broken Arrow residents who commute into Tulsa for work can either use the easy to access Route 51 or can use the efficient rail system. Residents of a Broken Arrow house or apartment for rent can enjoy the area’s recreational facilities almost year-round including Central Park, Arrowhead Park, Urbana Park, Main Place Park, Lions Park, Wedgewood Park, Haskell Park. Cultural events celebrated by Broken Arrow include Tuesdays in the Park, Rooster Days Festival, and Rooster Days Open Rodeo.
