The city of Pauls Valley was discovered by a pioneer, Smith Paul, fell upon the fertile bottomlands of the Washita River Valley on his adventures to California in the 1800s. Located 59 miles south of the state’s capitol, Oklahoma City, and nestled alongside the I-35, Pauls Valley has grown to a population of just over 6,000 residents. Although quite far away from Oklahoma City, an Amtrak station in town provides convenient schedules for residents of an apartment or home in Pauls Valley to commute to and from the capitol.
