The city of Pauls Valley was discovered by a pioneer, Smith Paul, fell upon the fertile bottomlands of the Washita River Valley on his adventures to California in the 1800s. Located 59 miles south of the state’s capitol, Oklahoma City, and nestled alongside the I-35, Pauls Valley has grown to a population of just over 6,000 residents. Although quite far away from Oklahoma City, an Amtrak station in town provides convenient schedules for residents of an apartment or home in Pauls Valley to commute to and from the capitol. The Pauls Valley Municipal Airport is a more expensive but quicker alternative.
The Santa Fe Depot Museum, Wild Horse and Burro Adoption Center, The Toy and Action Figure Museum, and Valley Vineyards and Winery provide ample attractions for residents of a Pauls Valley house or apartment for rent to enjoy. The Pauls Valley Golf Course is especially popular with the area’s retired community. Lake R.C. Longmire and Pauls Valley City Lake provide majestic and serene venues for a quiet day of boating or fishing. Residents can also use the Wacker Park and Bosa Community Center to fill their weekends and provide recreational activities. The Pauls Valley community also joins together to support annual celebrations including the Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, Valley Rally, Heritage Days IPBR Rodeo, Thunder in the Valley, 4th of July Celebration and Extravaganza, and Mayfest/Springfest.
