Located just 14 miles southwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma, along the I-44 corridor, the city of Sapulpa has grown to a population of 19,000 residents and serves as the county seat for Creek County. Tucked in the northeast region of Oklahoma’s Green Country, Sapulpa was first established in 1866 when a post office was built with the town formally recognized in 1898. In 1905, the discovery of oil six miles southeast fostered the greatest period of growth for the city. In addition to the oil boom, the Frisco railroad and construction of brick and glass manufacturing plants have converted Sapulpa from a sleepy village into a bustling suburban area with a multitude of industrial endeavors. Residents of a Sapulpa house or apartment for rent usually work in downtown Tulsa although a limited amount of jobs are available in Sapulpa itself. A direct rail line connects Sapulpa with Tulsa in a few minutes making for a stress-free commute.
Residents of an apartment or home for rent in Sapulpa can relax on the shores of Lake Sahoma or Pretty Water Lake and have the option of participating in community evens such as the Trout Derby, Lights On Ceremony, Route 66 Blowout, Sapulpa Royal Jazz Festival, Winterfest Christmas Parade, and Free Kids Catfish & Panfish Derby. A variety of recreational areas including Kelly Lane Park, Davis Park, BC Park, Mcgoy Park, Hollier Park, Berryhill Park, Liberty Park Heritage Park, Aaron's Angels Park, Booker T. Washington Recreation Center, and Charles C. Hamilton Golf Course provide ample space and opportunity for exercise and enjoying the warm days outdoors. The Sapulpa Community Theatre, Sapulpa Golf Course, Sapulpa Historical Museum, and Clary Fields Golf Club are also located in Sapulpa.
