About Sapulpa

Located just 14 miles southwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma, along the I-44 corridor, the city of Sapulpa has grown to a population of 19,000 residents and serves as the county seat for Creek County. Tucked in the northeast region of Oklahoma’s Green Country, Sapulpa was first established in 1866 when a post office was built with the town formally recognized in 1898. In 1905, the discovery of oil six miles southeast fostered the greatest period of growth for the city. In addition to the oil boom, the Frisco railroad and construction of brick and glass manufacturing plants have converted Sapulpa from a sleepy village into a bustling suburban area with a multitude of industrial endeavors.
