Montgomery County’s city of Ambler is home to 7,000 residents living 23 miles north of the Philadelphia city center. Ambler was first known as the Village of Wissahickon after the North Pennsylvania Railroad depot that was the city’s predecessor. Starting in 2007, the city is undergoing a massive revitalization of the Ambler Main Street that will include renovation of historic buildings and include the construction of more shops and restaurants to make the district friendlier. Residents of an apartment or home rental in Ambler are attracted to the area’s convenient commute into Philadelphia, where the majority of works, as well as the tight-knit community and wonderful local events that make living fun and enjoyable.
The Wissahickon School District includes 7 campuses for the city’s K-12 education needs, with 5 elementary schools, a middle school, and high school. Residents of an Ambler house or apartment for rent can also take advantage of local attractions such as the Act II Playhouse, Ambler Symphony Orchestra, and Ambler Theater. The Ambler Borough Park, Jean Thompson Park, Knight Park, Pickering Field, and Ricciardi Park offer recreational programs throughout the year, day camps during the summer, and facilities for organized sports. The community also supports and participates in a variety of events annually, including Spring Family Fun Day, Summer Concerts Under The Stars, Ambler First Friday, and International Fest.
