About Carlisle

Only 18 miles west of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the city of Carlisle is located in the agriculturally-rich Cumberland Valley and is home to just under 18,000 residents. Settled in 1751, the city was named after Carlisle, England, where the majority of the town’s settlers came from. Because of its location near the state’s capital, Carlisle and its residents of an apartment or home for rent usually commute to work due to the somewhat suburban nature of the city.
