An hour north of Philadelphia, the 9,000-person city of Doylestown is 39 miles outside of Pennsylvania’s busiest city. It’s prominent location at the junction of many state routes and highways led to the area’s first development in 1745 with a tavern for weary travelers and grew into a residential community that today also serves as a suburb. Residents of a Doylestown house or apartment for rent utilize the R5 SEPTA route for convenient commutes into Philadelphia, although the highways aren’t crowded, even during the work week. Mercer Museum, Fonthill, James A. Michener Art Museum, National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, and The Fountain House are amongst attractions that residents of an apartment or home rental in Doylestown treasure. Delaware Valley College is also located in Doylestown in addition to the public school system that provides quality K-12 education through 4 separate campuses. Henry Schmieder Arboretum and Peace Valley Park are also Doylestown places of interest as they provide a variety of recreational activities throughout the year.
