A borough in Lehigh County and 52 miles north of Philadelphia on the I-476, Emmaus was founded in 1759 as a settlement for the Moravian Church. In 1859, the discovery of iron in the area prompted many mills to be created in the area and attracted the East Pennsylvania Railroad.
