Prominently located along Route 219, 69 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Johnstown is sandwiched between the Conemaugh River’s tributaries, Stonycreek River and the Little Conemaugh, that merge just north of the downtown area. Settled in 1770, Johnstown was the site of 3 destructive floods in 1889, 1936, and 1977.
