Sitting atop the I-276 and I-76 interchange King of Prussia is only 19 miles northwest of the downtown business district of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With 18,000 residents, the city was named after the first building constructed, a tavern named "The King of Prussia Inn.” Residents of an apartment or home rental in King of Prussia are within minutes of arguably America's largest shopping complex at one location, the King Prussia Mall. It is also the largest shopping mall in the country, measured by leasable retail space. Valley Forge Shopping Center is also nearby. The railroad that runs through the city and along the river provides essential rail service into Philly and is the transportation method of choice for residents who commute to work. For residents looking to work locally, Lockheed Martin, Cingular, Trane, MAACO, General Electric, Theodore Presser Company, and BNP Paribas are all based in King of Prussia.
The Upper Merion Area School District provides K-12 education to King of Prussia’s youth and operates several elementary campuses in the city itself while the middle and high schools are located in nearby Upper Merion. Residents of a King of Prussia house or apartment for rent are also conveniently situated next to Valley Forge National Historic Park, one of the best-known historical destinations in the world. Lafayette Park and City Park provide normal recreational services to the somewhat suburban King of Prussia area as does the gorgeous Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
