Fifteen miles west of downtown Philadelphia, Prospect Park is a growing suburb of almost 7,000 Pennsylvanians. Historically, Prospect Hill’s Baptist Church claims that it was instrumental in the term, “In God We Trust,” that is now coined on all American money. Residents of a Prospect Park house or apartment for rent typically commute into downtown Philadelphia for work, either by a 20-minute drive on the I-95 or 10-minute ride on the SEPTA light rail route R2. An Amtrak station is also located in Prospect Park and provides regional rail transportation while the Philadelphia Airport, just across the interstate, offers hundreds of flights a day to destinations across the globe.
Residents of an apartment or home rental in Prospect Park are served by the Interboro School District, although only the high school is actually located in the town while the elementary and middle schools are situated a few minutes away. Prospect Park, Park Square Park, and Moores Lake Park are the area’s most notable parks. The Park Square hosts dozens of summer concerts May through August that attract over a thousand residents weekly to bring their beach chairs and sit on the lawn to enjoy music and company from their neighbors. Witmer Field is popular with Prospect Park’s athletic youth as there is almost always a game of some sort being played, both organized and for leisure.
