About Quakertown

Quakertown’s 9,000 residents find that the town’s rich heritage brings a living spirit and cultural appreciation to its people. Historically, Pennsylvania, as a whole, was originally created as a land area devoted to people of the Quaker faith, although that is no longer in the state or in Quakertown. In 1777, during the American Revolution, Quakertown also served as a temporary storage shelter for the famous Liberty Bell. Additionally, John Fries' Rebellion, was plotted from a tavern in the town. Once home to cigar and stove manufacturers, Quakertown has become rapidly expanding bedroom community and regional shopping center for Bucks County and Philadelphia.
