Named for a town in West Wiltshire, England, Warminster is 28 miles north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and serves as both a suburban community and light industrial area. Home to more than 18,000 residents, Warminster hosts the North American Technology Center and Willow Grove Naval Air Station, although the latter isn’t actually in town. Both properties provide the greatest number of jobs to the Warminster community. However, many residents of a Warminster house or apartment for rent choose to drive 45 minutes into Philadelphia for work. Warminster Village provides a number of convenient shops and stores for use, although big-box retailers are quite far away.
Barness Park, Crooked Billet Green, Ivy Woods, Kemper Park, Log College Park, and Munro Park act as the cornerstones of the city’s extensive recreation program, offering various walking paths, hike and bike trails, basketball courts, soccer and football fields, baseball diamonds, and playgrounds. The Centennial School District provides exceptional, blue ribbon award-winning public educations to students grades K-12. Residents of an apartment or home rental in Warminster actively participate in community events, including the Rubber Ducky Regatta, Memorial Parade, Father’s Day Fishing Derby, Warminster Days Festival, Heaviest Tomato Contest, Fall Golf Scramble, Pumpkin Chuck, and the Holiday Parade. For the area’s older population, the Benjamin Wilson Senior Center provides an endless array of activities and things to do.
