Thirty-tree miles northeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Cleveland hosts over 37,000 residents and is the largest city in Bradley County. The city was established to govern the region in 1837. The I-75 connects Cleveland to Chattanooga in 45 minutes and Knoxville, 88 miles away, in an hour and a half. The regional rail that passes through the city provides frequent trains for residents of a Cleveland house or apartment for rent to easily commute into Chattanooga for work. The area’s largest employers include Life Care Centers of America and Check Into Cash, Inc. Popular community-wide events, such as Annual Blue Springs Valley Sing, White Oak Mountain Bluegrass Festival, and Cherokee Days of Recognition, are also important to most residents.
Cleveland State Community College is located in the city and attracts residents from across the region for 2-year educational experiences. The Cleveland City Schools serves the community with 5 elementary schools, a middle school, high school, and learning center. Residents of an apartment or home rental in Cleveland can take advantage of the extensive park and recreation system that includes Cleveland Community Center and Northeast Recreation Center, both of which organize community activities and serve as a resource for fitness and exercise programs as well as youth leagues. Deer Park, Fletcher Park, Mouse Creek Soccer Complex, and Kenneth Tinsley Recreation Center are the largest area facilities, ranging from playground complexes to expansive 12-field venues. The city produces its very own daily newspaper, the Daily Banner.
