With a population approaching 9,000, Crossville is located in Cumberland County, 70 miles west of Knoxville, Tennessee. Situated at the junction of Route 70 and 127, the town’s origins are derived from a shop and tavern placed at the intersection to service weary travelers. Since then, a full community has sprung up at that same intersection. The single runaway Crossville Memorial Airport is hardly used now, although occasional private plans will use the facility.
