Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto first set eyes upon the land in 1540, but it wasn’t until the 1800s when David Crockett established a powder mill on the town’s current site that the origins of Lawrenceburg began. Home to 11,000 residents, Lawrenceburg is positioning itself as a residential community 80 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee. Residents of a Lawrenceburg house or apartment for rent can enjoy lazy days at the Davy Crockett State Park as well as the Lawrenceburg Golf & Country Club. Fairview Park, in the heart of the town, provides an urban oasis and even hosts dozens of youth soccer and baseball games weekly. Because of Lawrenceburg’s position as a primarily residential neighborhood, most residents commute to Columbia, or sometimes even to Nashville for work.
The recently renovated Main Street has cultured a vibrant nightlife that extends Lawrenceburg’s southern days late into the night. Local attractions such as David Crockett Statue and Mexican War Monument are also popular amongst visitors and residents alike. One of the biggest local events isn’t actually open to the community. The annual Southeast Law Enforcement Training Seminar is held in Lawrenceburg and attracts over 2,000 officers each year. Residents of an apartment or home rental in Lawrenceburg are also close to a number of department stores, antique shops, and other popular retailers. Because the town is so small, residents can enjoy personal attention. Columbia State Community College is also located in Lawrenceburg.
