A 35-minute drive southeast on the I-75 will lead to the 7,000-person town of Lenoir City, a traditional community on the Tennessee River. Founded in 1840, the area was named after the family that built one of the first cotton mills in the South. Residents of a Lenoir City house or apartment for rent look forward to ROCKIN' the Docks, an all day festival that takes place each year during the summer on Fort Loudon Lake and features live bands, food, fireworks, rock climbing walls, and other games and activities. The majority of residents commute to Marysville or Knoxville for work as jobs available locally are few and far between.
Both Lenoir City Schools and Loudon County Schools serve residents of an apartment or home rental in Lenoir City. The city district operates an elementary, middle, and high school, while the country schools serve the community with 2 elementary schools and a middle school. Students are allowed to attend the school nearest to them, regardless of school district, although there is only one high school option. Fort Loudon Lake based on the river is a recreation buff heaven and allows for a variety of swimming and water sports in the summer as well as superb walks along the coastline year round. Cedar Hills Golf Course, Executive Meadows Golf Course, and Landmark Golf Club at Avalon are all popular courses in different parts of Lenoir City and thus offer varying surroundings. Highland Park and Lenoir City Park are the largest conventional parks and host many tournaments and sports like soccer and baseball during their respective seasons.
