Canyon is a medium sized city found in the northern region of the Lone Star State. Canyon has a population of approximately twelve thousand nine hundred residents, and is considered a part of Randall County. Canyon was founded in the late nineteenth century, and was known as Canyon City until the year nineteen eleven. Canyon’s nickname is the Gateway to Palo Duro Canyon, and the city is found directly west of the JA Ranch.
