Donna has a population of approximately fourteen thousand eight hundred residents, and is considered a part of Hidalgo County. Donna is situated in the McAllen-Edinburg-Mission Metropolitan Statistical Area, and the town motto is “the City with a Heart in the Heart of the Rio Grande Valley.” Donna was originally founded in the year nineteen seven, and was named after Donna Hooks Fletcher.
