Seguin is a moderately sized community found in the south central region of the US state of Texas. Seguin has a population of approximately twenty two thousand residents, and is considered a part of Guadalupe County. Seguin serves as the county seat of Guadalupe County, and was originally founded in the year eighteen thirty eight by members of the Gonzales Rangers. Seguin was named Walnut Springs at first, but is ironically nicknamed the Pecan Capital of Texas because of its prodigious production of pecans.
