Originally Christiansburgh, Christiansburg, Blacksburg, and Radford up the Montgomery County within the state of Virginia. The town has a population of about 17,000 residents. The town of Christiansburg was named after a soldier and politician from Virginia named William Christian. Some historic people who lived in Christiansburg at one time or another include Davy Crockett, who worked at John Snider’s Hattery Shop while in the town, and Daniel Boone, whose warrant for arrest is still intact at the town’s courthouse. Washington was once principal.
