Great Falls is mainly a bedroom community for the Washington D.C. area, however the area is known its Great Falls Park, which is located at the Great Falls of the Potomac River. The Great Falls is also what the community was named after. The River Bend County Park is also popular, in addition to the Village Green, which hosts celebrations for most major holidays, including Easter, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Located in the town is the Colvin Run Mill Historic Sight, which contains a museum, penny candy, and an activity barn. The community is also home to the Great Falls Art Center, where residents can find beautiful art on display. Great Falls also has excellent dining, including restaurants such as Fiore de Luna, Marcello Ristorante, and The Old Brogue.
