The unincorporated community of Fox Island, Washington, is located in Pierce County which is in the western portion of the state. Spanning an area of about six-and-a-half square miles, Fox Island is indeed on an island within the Puget Sound. About 2,800 people live in this beautiful community, which is a part of the greater Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area.
Travel to the mainland by bridge or ferry. Downtown Tacoma is 18 miles to the east of Fox Island. Downtown Seattle is about 50 miles to the northeast. Living in Fox Island will give you all the benefits of being close to a major metropolitan area while still being able to get away from the busyness of urban living.
