Oak Harbor is a beautiful town located on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound, in Island County, northwestern Washington. The area was first settled in at 1849 by seafaring men, and the town’s first major industry was ship building. Later, in 1890, Dutch immigrants arrived in Oak Harbor and they began developing in the rich farmland. The chief agricultural products of Oak Harbor include dairy foods, poultry, vegetables, and the wheat. The town has also become a major trade and recreation center for Whidbey Island, and the Deception Pass State Park if is also located nearby.
