About Holmen

Situated in the beautiful La Crosse County, the village of Holmen has a population of over 7,000 residents. Holmen was officially incorporated in 1946, and has been a steadily growing community until the 1980’s, when Holmen really began to boom. As of 2007, Holmen ranked as one of the fastest growing communities in all of Wisconsin. Holmen also has one of the largest school districts in the region. Holmen has developed from a small rural farming community to a bustling urban center. The village is bordered by beautiful bluffs to the east, and sweeping prairies to the west.

Holmen also has 12 amazing parks, including Deer Wood Park, one of the village’s more popular and extensive recreational parks. Holmen is also home to the Holmen Area Aquatic Center, which provides a wide variety of water attractions, including a 200 foot water slide. The village also hosts numerous community events and festivals, including Yes Holmen, Miss Holmen Pageant, Korn Fest, Lions Car Show, Holmen Rod and Gun Field Days, and Majesty of Christmas Pageant.
