The city of New Berlin is located in Waukesha County and has a population of about 39,000 residents. The city was named after New Berlin, New York. Although there happens to be five other cities in the US with the name New Berlin, the city of New Berlin in Wisconsin is the largest of them. The city didn’t experience major growth and development until the 1960’s and 70’s, and even today it continues to develop. The city was incorporated in 1959, and grew as a result of residents moving out of the City of Milwaukee to the less urbanized areas. Even today the city continues to attract residents and businesses moving out of neighboring Milwaukee.
