About West Haven
A town located on the coastal shores of the Long Island Sound, West Haven, Connecticut, has a population of over 50,000 and lies not far from Bridgeport, another major coastal city here. West Haven is only about 4 miles away from New Haven, where the nationally renowned Ivy League institution, Yale University, is located, making it an ideal location for those working at or attending school there who are seeking a a house for rent or an apartment for rent nearby. The public schools in the area are top-notch as well, with eight elementary schools, two middle schools and West Haven High School. The area's beaches are a major draw in the warmer months, and residents can find plenty to do among Sandy Point, one of the sites featured on the new Connecticut Coastal Birding Trail, Bradley Point Park, Savin Rock Museum, Painter Park, Old Grove Park and Beach Street Skate & Bike Park. The high school houses an ice rink and a swimming pool as well.
