A town of just over 9,000, Cairo, Georgia, is located in one of the southernmost counties in southern Georgia and is about 20 miles north of the state line border with Florida. The town is nicknamed the "Syrup City," because much of it is produced here, and the local high school mascots even incorporate "syrup" into their names. Those looking for a house for rent or an apartment for rent here will find five elementary schools and a middle and high school serve the area. Cairo Country Club and Sarasa Park are two attractions here, and Cairo holds numerous festivals and events throughout the year for its citizens to enjoy. The Great Southern Antique Auto Show & Rally, Syrup City Days Gone By, and the Rattlesnake Round-Up are held. Pow-Wow -- which includes a dramatic depiction of Native American life, dancing, drumming, exhibits and more -- and Picker's Paradise Park Festival, a bluegrass festival, are major yearly draws as well. New residents searching for that perfect house for rent or apartment for rent will find many options, and two shopping centers within the town to serve them.
