Stretching for about seven miles south from Ma'alaea Bay on west coast of the island of Maui, Kihei, Hawaii, is home to almost 17,000 residents. The area has boomed over the past several decades, expanding from an area that stretched only a few hundred yards to now stretch nearly five miles. With the expansion, a number of housing units have been constructed and those seeking a house for rent or an apartment for rent here will find a vast number of options. The town has an active tourism industry, with nearly a third of the residents here being employed in accommodation and food services. The nearest hospital is just nine miles away in Kula, and two elementary schools, an intermediate school, and Kihei Public High School make up the public school system here. A number of recreational ventures offer activities for those searching for a house for rent or an apartment for rent, including kayaking, diving, rafting, beaches, the Hawaii Space Center and the Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.
