Those seeking a house for rent or an apartment for rent interested in higher education will find a Louisiana Technical College campus. Millers Lake, Cazan Lake and Lake Chicot and Chicot State Park are just minutes away, ensuring plenty of options for those who enjoy spending time on the water in the sunny spring and summer months. Residents just moved into a house for rent or an apartment for rent here can visit Ville Platte Swamp Pop City Museum to learn more about their new home and its history. The second weekend in October, the town comes alive when it hosts the Louisiana Cotton Festival and Le Tournoi de la Ville Platte. In the summer, it hosts Le Festival de la Viande Boucanée (the Smoked Meat Festival).
