Jessup is a relatively small community found in the central portion of the state of Maryland. Jessup has a population of approximately seven thousand nine hundred residents, and is technically an unincorporated census-designated place. Jessup is considered a part of both Howard County and Anne Arundel County. Jessup is the center of population of the state of Maryland, and was originally known as Jessup’s Cut.
