Westport is a medium sized community found in the southeastern portion of the state of Massachusetts. Westport has a population of approximately fourteen thousand two hundred residents, and is considered a part of Bristol County. The area which is now considered Westport was originally settled in the year sixteen seventy as part of the community of Dartmouth. Westport itself was officially incorporated as a separate town in the year seventeen eighty seven.
