Kent is a medium sized community which often goes by the name of “Kent Lakes” found in the southeastern portion of the state of New York. Kent has a population of approximately fourteen thousand residents and is technically considered a town of the Empire State. Kent is currently governed by Supervisor Kathy Doherty and is named after an early settler family. Kent was originally settled in the year seventeen fifty and was officially incorporated forty five years later.
