About Vestal
The town of Vestal is situated in Broome County in a region of New York known as the Southern Tier. The town lies between the Susquehanna River and the Pennsylvania border, and it has a population of about 28,000 residents. Vestal is also located near Binghamton, and it is home to Binghamton University. The town was first settled in around 1785, and in 1823, the Town of Vestal was formed when it was separated from the Town of Union. The town is also home to Harpur College, and major corporations including IBM and Lockheed Martin are located within Vestal’s vicinity. Over the past two decades, Vestal has developed into a beautiful, residential suburb and a major retail center. Some of the major shopping complexes include the Town Square Mall, Parkway Plaza, Shoppes at Vestal, and the Campus Plaza. The town’s historic business district on Front Street is also home to smaller, unique shops. In addition to shopping, Vestal also offers great dining and recreational opportunities. Vestal includes 21 beautiful parks, all of which provide for the town’s residents, no matter what age.
